The 2011 Live Life to the Fullest Challenge ENDS
I failed miserably at this one!
The LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST 2011 Challenge asked you to:
* Think about what is most important to you in your life… is it your health? your family? your friendships? your career? ALL of the above?
* Come up with a list of 12-14 things you can do this year to make that (those things) a priority in your life (maybe one thing/focus per month?)… what can you start (or stop) doing to get the fullest enjoyment out of your everyday life? What would make you feel that you were living your life to the best of your ability each & every day?
* Keep some sort of journal to record your progress!
CHALLENGE DATES: October 1, 2010 -to- December 31, 2011
MY GOALS:
((REVISED: March 21, 2011))
1. Cut out all sodas ~ especially caffinated ones.
2. Lose 30-45 lbs.
3. Eat less processed foods; more Mediterranean-style.
4. Take a break from reviewing books, here & there (for 1-3 mos. at a time) so I can pleasure read.
5. Add more “thinking” posts to my blog ~ not just memes, reviews, & blog tours.
6. Limit computer time on weekends to 2-3 hrs/day, maximum.
7. Stay focused, spiritually, by doing Bible study, & reading Christian books & blogs.
8. Practice surrendering to God, daily.
9. Write more thorough book reviews (use guidelines, if necessary).
10. Examine what I believe, and why.
11. Exercise at least 3x/week for 15-20 mins. each day.
12. Eat within my hunger/satisfaction boundaries, daily.
13. Stop giving in to my excuses ~ in ANY area of life!
14. Study the Gospels to see how Jesus taught us to live.
* Those highlighted in pink (above) are ones I did accomplish.
Previous list (before revision):
1. Read my Bible daily.
2. Exercise (preferrably before breakfast) 4-5 days/week, for 30-60 minutes.
3. Cut out all sodas.
4. Lose 30-45 lbs.
5. Eat like a runner/athlete.
6. Learn to run ~ gradually increase time of intervals.
7. Limit my time spent reading.
8. Cut back on the # of blog tours/reviews I sign up for (limit: 3/month).
9. Limit the # of challenges I join & create (limit: 4).
10. Spend at least 2 hours/week playing with my kids (or doing something together).
11. Find healthy (Meditteranean?) recipes & try at least 2 new ones per month.
12. Add more “thinking” posts to my blog(s) ~ not just memes, reviews, and tours.
13. Journal, daily, 3-5 things I’m grateful for, or positives from my day.
14. Limit computer-time to only 2 hours per day, maximum!
The 2011 Book-a-Week Challenge ENDS
I completed this challenge!
BOOK-A-WEEK is actually a Yahoo! Group whose members aim to read at least 52 books every year. I’ve belonged to this “challenge” since March 2002, so I’m a “charter member” there. And, I’ve managed to meet the goal almost every year since the beginning (I missed 2 years, I think).

2011 Spring Reading Thing Challenge ENDS
Today is the end of the 2011 Spring Reading Thing challenge, hosted by Katrina.
And, I’m happy to announce that I’ve completed the challenged!
I had originally set myself a tiny list, to be added to as we went along. I prefer doing it this way — not giving myself a huge, set list any more — as it leaves me room to change my mind. I’m a total “mood reader”, so I don’t like sticking to a list. I’ve found it just doesn’t work for me.
So, here’s how I did…
My starter list:
• “Revise Us Again” by Frank Viola (review book)• “The Titus Mandate” by Ted Bigelow (review book) /DNF
• “The Fury” by L. J. Smith (Vamp. Diaries, book 3)• “
Reunion” by L. J. Smith (Vamp. Diaries, book 4)• “
unChristian” by David Kinnaman• “After You Believe” by N. T. Wright /DNF
• “Unlimited” by Jillian Michaels
What else I read…
1. “Dangerous Journey” by Oliver Hunkin
2. “Falling Under” by Gwen Hayes
3. “A Hidden Affair” by Pam Jenoff
4. “The Lady of Bolton Hill” by Elizabeth Camden
5. “Your Best Body Now” by Tosca Reno
6. “Fully Engaged” by John Busacker
7. “Reshaping It All” by Candace Cameron Bure
8. “Sun Stand Still” by Steven Furtick
9. “Something Borrowed” by Emily Giffin
10. “The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make” by Sean Covey
11. “Beastly” by Alex Flinn
12. “Mistress of Rome” by Kate Quinn
13. “Weird: Because Normal Isn’t Working” by Craig Groeschel
14. “The Art of War for Women” by Chin-Ning Chu
15. “The Idiot Factor” by Larry Winget
16. “A Place of Yes” by Bethenny Frankel
17. “Does Change Have to Be So H.A.R.D?” by Julie Donley, R.N.
So, all told, I read 22 books during/for this challenge! Whoohoo!
Thanks, again, to Katrina for hosting!
